Mary Greenberg - President 2003-2004
Portfolio & Goals:
Mary's was elected President in 2003 and in addition has taken on the demanding role of Chief Editor and sportswriter for "On the Ball", MWBA's fortnightly newsletter. Formerly MWBA's finance officer (2000-2002), she sees the main goals of the association as promoting the fun of playing basketball and developing players, coaches and referees to the levels they wish to attain. She continues to ensure that MWBA achieves these goals in a financially responsible way.

Mary is a
Life Member
of MWBA and has a long association with basketball in Manly Warringah. She is MWBA's number 1 spectator. She was a board member of the Manly Warringah Amateur Basketball Association (MWABA) from 1973 to 1980 during which time she was publicity officer (1973-74), Registrar (1974-76). Mary was Secretary of the MWABA from 1977 to 1980. Her late husband, Len Greenberg, was a coach for MWABA from 1973 to 1980. Her children, David and Sharon, represented Manly at State level and represented NSW at National level as well as Australia in the Maccabbi games.
Professional Background:
Mary studied Journalism at the University of Oklahoma attaining a Bachelor of Arts in 1952. She worked as a research assistant for Time magazine in New York in 1952 and was secretary of Oliver Corp in Chicago from 1952-1953. After becoming a mother in 1953, Mary returned to the workforce as a credit controller and bookkeeper in California between 1964 and 1968. Between 1969 and 1972 she worked as a Personnel Recruiter for CDC and in 1973 moved to Sydney where she worked as an office manager and company secretary for OU Norman Enterprises. Since 2000 Mary has consulted in Human Resources.
