This is a one hour training session run by MWBA coaches that allows players to brush up on their basketball skills. There are two... | 2011/12 Senior Comp ResultsMonday nights Open Men Division one Senior Comp final was a nail bitter to the end, with top of the ladder Balgowlah Beavers winning over third place Recommissioned by one point. Kyle Painter was outstanding scoring three 3 pointers and scoring half of his teams points. Coming a tie in first place on the division two ladder, Everyone Fights took on Gilbert Arena. Half time saw a three point advantage to Gilbert Arena but by the end of the second half Everyone Fight lived up to their name and came up trumps, winning 42-36. Third place on the ladder Cons defeated top of the ladder Chuck Norris 33-19 for an upset in the Division three comp. The final proved to be a tough game for the two teams with lots of fouls resulting from frustration. Samuel Patching could not miss the basket in the final for his team Hoops I Did It Again in Division 4A. Patching scored three, 3 pointers and a whopping 31 points of his team’s 49-38 victory over top of the ladder A.A.C. In Division 4B Random Hero’s defeated Bruts 51-31. James Martin topped the point’s ladder scoring 19 points. In the Wednesday night Women’s Senior Comp we saw the Balgowlah Beaverettes take on the Cunning Stunts with the Cunning Stunts coming out on top as victors 51-42 for division one. The Basketeers defeated the G-Sisters 36-15 in div two. A great game was played by Lydia Haggarty and Jemma Hilliger who were top points scorers. The final for division one men on Wednesday night saw Tais Tois winning over the Ballers 51-42. The Ballers were missing two of their key players in Tim Hill and Kevin White. Despite their last two baskets being 3 pointers the Schralpers ran out of time and went down to Th Stayers 59-54 in the Division two men’s comp. Highest point scorer goes to Nick Blair who scored 27 points for the Schralpers. Congratulations to new comers to the Open Men three competition Da Old Skool for making it to the finals in their first attempt. Unfortunately the Seagulls proved too strong winning 41-27. Mitchell Roberts was highest point scorer with 14 points. We had a very competitive spring competition with the senior’s having to do numerous count backs to determine who would make the final rounds. We hope every team enjoyed themselves and we look forward to seeing them return. Next season starts back on Monday 23rd April and Wednesday 2nd May 2012.
